Frequently asked questions and answers about Microneedling.
With a filler, a cosmetic doctor injects crosslinked hyaluronic acid locally into the wrinkles, causing them to fill up. This remains in place for months and is slowly broken down by the body. However, nothing happens to the skin that surrounds the wrinkle. With the SkinPen we treat the entire skin, but nothing is injected into it, but we stimulate the natural functions of the skin. You will need some patience for this because this process can take a few weeks to a year. Our experience is that the combination of a filler and SkinPen treatment is incredibly beautiful if you have wrinkles, but they should not be undergone at the same time.
This is a bit different per skin type and indication. An average course consists of 3 to 6 treatments with an interval of 4 weeks.
- Skin rejuvenation: we start with 3 treatments after which we stop for 3 months to see what it has done. After these 3 months, we will see if more treatments are needed.
- Acne scars: in most cases we start with 6 treatments with an interval of 4 weeks. After 3 treatments we will see how the progress is together. Superficial scars require fewer treatments than deep scars.
HOW DO WE WORK?
INTAKE INTERVIEW
After we have discussed the necessary information about what exactly your skin needs through an intake interview, we will invite you to take a seat on our comfortable treatment table.
Step 1
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
We start by cleansing your face and make sure that we work sterile and remove the first superficial impurities.
Step 2
START OF TREATMENT
We start with the Microneedling treatment itself. By means of very small, sterile needles that vibrate on the skin, small microchannels are created in the skin. During the treatment, the natural repair process deep in the skin is already activated, causing new collagen (type 3) and elastin to be produced. The skin will immediately look firmer and fuller, your complexion will become more even, fresh and radiant. Medical micro-needling is the most effective treatment and therefore provides a more visible result.
The SkinPen collagen induction therapy can be used for many indications:

This Luxurious treatment consists of a Microneedling phase with the SkinPen which is completed with a post-treatment with the Premium Biocellulose Mask. A translucent second skin mask that perfectly meets the needs of the skin after a SkinPen treatment. The mask soothes sensitive skin that feels itchy or tight. In addition, the mask comfortably soothes and cares for the skin, supporting the skin's natural healing process.
Step 4
AFTER THE TREATMENT
• Medclinic & Wellness Delizia will give you two tubes to take home for the post-treatment. These are included in the price of the treatment.
• The first 24 hours after the treatment, use the Skinfuse moisturizing cream (tube 1). This can be done several times a day. Do not use any other products, including foundation or sunscreen.
• Wait at least 24 hours until after the microneedling treatment to start using the Rescue restorative cream (tube 2). You can also cleanse your skin again with a very mild cleanser, also available from us. From now on, protect your skin daily with sun protection.
• Four days after the treatment you can use your own products again and we will fully guide you in this and recommend products. So you can use active ingredients such as vitamin A and vitamin C again.

First time?
Intake interview and advice.
During your first visit to Med Clinic in Antwerp Wilrijk , an extensive intake interview will take place, possibly together with a skin scan. This scan shows the deeper layers of the skin so that we can give more targeted advice and offer better solutions. After the skin scan, a treatment plan is drawn up, the necessary home care is given and a possible follow-up appointment is scheduled.
